Grand Tasting Temptations
The place to be this weekend in NYC was at the Grand Tasting.??From the moment we entered the historic Pier 57 building, with its breathtaking views of the Hudson River, till the moment we exited, there was a non- stop culinary adventure.

The event consisted of all day tastings hosted by some of NYC top restaurants and their illustrious chefs, a culinary showcase with 12 daily cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs, a showcase by Southern Wine and Spirits of NY, some Kitchen Aid demonstrations using their utensils and products, give aways by sponsors such as Delta, Shoprite, Pepsi, Buick, Celebrity Cruises, Pearl Vodka et al, with their presentations, and more at each booth
New this year, was a two stage system at the Culinary Demonstrations. The stages were set where two celebrity chefs could showcase their culinary expertise by demonstrating both their talents and their techniques.??This intimate venue allowed you to get a real life view of their personalities in action.??Some of the Food Network stars that appeared were Paula Deen, Giada De Laurentiis, Debi Mazar, Guy Fierri, Robert Irvine and Anne Burrell.
The highlight of my day though, was when Kristen introduced me to one of my favorite celebrity chefs from the Food Network show Chopped,?Marc Murphy.??Marc Murphy was participating in a tasting with his restaurant Benchmarc.??He shook my hand and cordially invited me to taste a pasta dish he he had prepared for the occasion (unfortunately not GF, we checked). Marc Murphy of course will prepare GF items at his restaurant when you visit.??The dish he was preparing for the event, was a creamy spirally pasta with a spicy sausage, it was so delicious.

We left the Grand Tasting with a huge bag full of all kinds of different food and drink samples, utensils, coupons, business cards and advertisements that would prove to be of great value not only to us but to anyone who was truly interested in what is happening as a whole in the culinary world today. If food is a primary interest or a budding passion of yours make it a priority to attend the next Wine and Food Festival near you.??I hear the one in Miami is fabulous. Bon App?tit!
